Fire protection and rescue services are provided on a 24 hour basis by the Painesville Township Fire Department, whose capability was recognized April 1, 1976, by an improved insurance fire class rating of 5. The department has three fire stations located on Nye, Bowhall  and Hardy Roads. That are manned by minimum three personnel on duty per station.
